Improve your Greek with Intermediate language book ‘Φύγαμε για ελληνικά!’ (Off we go to learn Greek!)
The book ‘Φύγαμε για ελληνικά!’ is the result of the long teaching experience of the three authors, Marina Braila, Konstantinos Oikonomou and (late) Dora Stoimenidou at the Omilo school. It is a book intended for Intermediate learners of Modern Greek (A2 – early stages of B1 level, as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, CEFR). To find out the Omilo story behind the book, also in Greek, click here!
Its main purpose is to give students the opportunity to improve their Greek reading and listening comprehension skills as well as to enrich significantly their vocabulary.
The main body of the book consists of 12 increasingly difficult thematic units. It covers a wide range of everyday life topics and it also provides information on various social and cultural aspects of life in Greece. Writing topics are also suggested; correction via e-mail is possible.
At the end of the book, the students can find the transcripts of the listening comprehension exercises, the keys to the book’s exercises and a selected vocabulary translated into 4 languages: English, French, German and Spanish.
The book is accompanied by a CD with the 24 visual or audio texts.
‘Φύγαμε για ελληνικά!’ can be used either in the classroom, with Skype lessons or for self-study. If you wish to work with the book under the guidance of the authors Marina Braila and Konstantinos Oikonomou, Skype lessons are available via Omilo.(Unfortunately the 3rd author, our beloved Dora, died in 2014.)
